SunGard today announced that Pennsylvania-based Susquehanna International Group has selected BRASS as its platform for the trading, market access and compliance of its OTC and Listed securities trading business.
Susquehanna selected the BRASS order management system (OMS), BRASS EnGard, BRASS Broker Direct U2 and other elements of the BRASS order, execution and compliance management platform.
More than 100 Susquehanna professionals will use BRASS for automated routing and execution of order flow. BRASS's ASP-based delivery framework will provide a fully redundant, secure trading environment. BRASS will replace a proprietary system at Susquehanna.
Susquehanna believes that use of the BRASS platform will help the firm to work within the structure of RegulationNMS, in addition to providing support for the compliance obligations under the new rules. BRASS EnGard will help automate and manage the compliance lifecycle including surveillance, internal investigations, documentation and reporting, helping Susquehanna to monitor and reduce risk and opportunity cost, improve workflow and automation of surveillance, and streamline its operations.
Alan Goldberg, associate director at Susquehanna International Group, said, "We are impressed not only with the functionality of SunGard's BRASS platform, but also with the willingness of the BRASS management team to work with us as a vendor partner. Another major factor in our decision to select SunGard was the BRASS EnGard solution. Susquehanna is compliance-focused and we believe EnGard will help us to maintain our consistently high standards in this area. We are confident that the vision and strategy behind the comprehensive BRASS platform is in line with our requirements."
Raj Mahajan, president of SunGard's BRASS business unit, said, "We look forward to working in partnership with Susquehanna to help it achieve its equities trading and compliance goals. Our measure of success is based directly on the success of our customers."
