Nyse appoints Brian Gimlett SVP, security

NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) has appointed Brian Gimlett to the position of Senior Vice President, Security.

Mr. Gimlett, who will join the NYSE Group on October 23, will be responsible for the security and fire safety of the NYSE Group's worldwide facilities while also serving as the Exchange's primary liaison with local, state, federal and international law enforcement agencies.

Mr. Gimlett has over 30 years of security and business experience. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Global Security for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Mr. Gimlett was Senior Executive Vice President of Employment and Corporate Security, respectively, for MBNA-Bank of America. Mr. Gimlett spent 22 years with the U.S. Secret Service where he became Special Agent in Charge of the New York Office.

Recognized nationally for his accomplishments in federal law enforcement initiatives and as an expert in alternative dispute resolution in the role of Ombudsman, Mr. Gimlett has directed security arrangements for numerous high profile events, including the President of the United States, various Heads of State, and Pope John Paul II. Mr.Gimlett received a B.S. degree from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
