SunGard names Leif Strid Asia Pacific director for GMI

SunGard announced today that Leif Strid has been appointed Asia Pacific Director for SunGard's GMI, a clearing and accounting system for global exchange-traded derivatives, futures and options.

Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Strid is responsible for managing the GMI infrastructure within Asia Pacific, serving existing customers and coordinating the expansion of the business in the region.

Prior to this role, Mr. Strid was a senior sales consultant for GMI in New York. His industry experience spans 18 years in various operational, business analyst and management roles in the global futures and derivatives arena. As Asia Pacific Director, Mr. Strid will report to Christopher Meens, managing director of GMI in the UK and Europe, and now additionally, the Asia Pacific region.

GMI supports the activities of clearing firms, securities firms, brokerage houses, and other participants in derivatives trading, such as multinational agriculture and energy companies. GMI links to exchanges worldwide for automatic trade capture and access to pricing updates, margins, and risk arrays. Customers use GMI to help eliminate manual processes and consolidate data in a single integrated accounting system, control costs and increase competitiveness. Listed derivative transactions on more than 75 exchanges worldwide are supported by GMI.
