The USB smart-card-based eToken authentication solutions are scheduled to support Windows Vista following its eventual release date. eToken will integrate at all levels of Windows Vista, ensuring seamless integration for existing and future eToken customers looking to migrate to the latest Microsoft operating system while still employing strong authentication and powerful data security. Windows Vista provides added smart card support and flexibility that enhances the use of USB-based smart card authentication solutions, allowing for a more intuitive and simplified approach for an organization employing strong authentication for employees, partners or customers.
"Enterprise customers are moving to stronger authentication systems in response to increased security risks and regulatory requirements, and will benefit from the user authentication architecture improvements in Windows Vista," said Phil Schacter, vice president and research director for the Burton Group. "However, it is equally important that vendors of stronger authentication technologies, such as Aladdin, are timely in their support to ensure that early adopters of Vista are not impacted by compatibility issues that result from the underlying architecture changes in Windows. The combination of a more secure Windows and well integrated authentication products from Aladdin and others will go a long way to accelerating the adoption and deployment of stronger authentication solutions in the enterprise customer market."
"We are pleased to announce that Aladdin is set to provide support for Microsoft's forthcoming Windows Vista operating system, as we expect this new platform to spawn significantly higher interest in simple, yet secure USB- based smart card strong authentication among enterprises worldwide," said Shlomi Yanai, vice president of the Aladdin eToken Business Unit. "Aladdin's commitment to supporting the latest platforms illustrates our ongoing goal of stellar customer service and innovation."
