Wiener Börse and the Macedonian Stock Exchange sign cooperation agreement

The Executive Director of the Macedonian Stock Exchange, Ivan Steriev, and Michael Buhl, member of the management board of Wiener Börse, signed a memorandum of understanding today in Skopje declaring their mutual interest in cooperating more closely in the future.

"We are very pleased about the interest of the Macedonian Stock Exchange in cooperating with Wiener Börse and hope to start working together very soon," stressed Michael Buhl.

"Wiener Börse is an important partner for our efforts to establish our position in Central Europe. This agreement creates the foundation for a long-term partnership," said Ivan Steriev, Chief Executive Director of the Macedonian Stock Exchange on the signing of the cooperation agreement.

The Macedonian Stock Exchange is the only exchange in the country, boasted 46 listed companies at the end of August this year. Market capitalization was 918 millions Euros, and total trading volume from the beginning of 2007 until August 31, is 401 million Euros.

The Macedonian Stock Exchange is the eighth exchange from Southeast Europe after Bucharest, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sofia, Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Montenegro to declare a commitment to cooperate with Wiener Börse.
