Omgeo, the world’s leading provider of post-trade, pre-settlement trade management services, announced today that John Burchenal is now managing director of global straight-through processing (STP) partners in addition to his existing leadership of asset class expansion. Additionally, Paul Antosh has joined the company as executive director, global product management.
Mr. Burchenal’s added responsibilities and the seniority of Mr. Antosh’s role at Omgeo are a direct reflection of the company’s continued focus on providing best-of-breed solutions across multiple asset classes, both by building robust, flexible products that meet the evolving needs of its clients and by partnering with other industry-leading firms.
With additional responsibilities as managing director of global STP partners, Mr. Burchenal, who joined Omgeo in 2005, will leverage his extensive experience in developing business partnerships and building synergies that support Omgeo’s asset class expansion strategy. He will continue to report to Adam Bryan, president and chief executive officer.
"John has proven in a very short time that he delivers tangible value both to our organization, and our clients," said Mr. Bryan. "With him on board, not only have we expanded our solutions set to include derivatives through our relationship with DTCC, but we’ve invigorated some key relationships across fixed income and other asset classes. We recognize the critical component industry partnerships play in providing the best solutions for our clients, particularly as we reach into new asset classes, and John will no doubt further enhance our global STP partners group to do just that."
Prior to Omgeo, Mr. Burchenal most recently served as director of STP services at Thomson Financial TradeWeb. Previously, he held management positions at Citibank, DLJ and Lehman Brothers. Mr. Burchenal holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
As head of product management, Mr. Antosh will be responsible for further developing product management best practices, enhancing business and commercial focus within the function and increasing collaboration between product groups and across other functions at Omgeo. Moreover, he will oversee Omgeo’s continuing drive to deliver value-add solutions to clients. Mr. Antosh will report to Steve Matthews, managing director, product and business development.
"As Omgeo continues to offer products that address the myriad pain points of our clients, it is critical to remain responsive to their ever-changing needs,” said Mr. Matthews. “Paul’s 15-plus years of experience, including a strong focus on strategy, innovation and commercial success, dovetail nicely with Omgeo’s existing product and domain expertise. In addition to building increased functionality into our existing products, Paul will be critical in determining new products to bring to market and the best way to leverage our industry partnerships to enhance our offerings."
Previously, Mr. Antosh was director of product management at Progress Software Corporation, where he was responsible for the development and execution of the strategic plans for Real Time Data Services products with direct oversight of the value proposition, product innovation and growth of all products. In addition to other product management roles at Progress, Mr. Antosh served in similar capacities at Pervasive Software, Austin Computers/IPC and NorthStar MatrixServ. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with minors in business administration and English from University of Texas.
