GemStone Systems hires Martin Hand to head new London office

GemStone Systems, the leading provider of the Enterprise Data Fabric, today announced an expansion of their global presence into Europe with the establishment of new offices in the City of London and the appointment of Martin Hand as Business Development Director, EMEA.

Leveraging GemStone's success in the region, Hand will be responsible for growing the company in Europe and providing local client support to service existing customer needs.

Most recently, Hand served as Founder and CEO of Finisco Group Limited, a provider of e-business, knowledge and operational risk management systems headquartered in Northern Ireland. Hand joins GemStone with 18 years of experience in the global financial and technology sectors, including his position as managing director of Data Analysis Risk Technology Limited (DART – formerly a subsidiary of Intercapital Group), and earlier roles at Quotient Plc and BCCI in the City of London. Hand brings substantial experience in derivative systems, core pricing and risk management solutions, and offers extensive industry knowledge and a proven track record of establishing, developing, and managing the business development and operations divisions of leading technology organizations. Throughout his career, Hand has demonstrated success delivering consistent and sustained revenue growth while building a solid client base across more than 12 European countries.

Hand holds a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in computer science and applied mathematics from Queens University in Belfast. He also boasts various business credentials in the fields of investment management, sales management, business analysis, product marketing and development, product research and business strategy.
