A chartered accountant for over thirty years, Gurinder, 57, has had a stellar career in the payments sector, including Elavon and FIS as the CFO of the European business divisions. His many other senior finance leadership roles have equipped him with wide experience in large transactions, mergers and acquisitions and business transformation.

Gurinder reflects: “I wanted to join Cardstream, firstly, because of Adam Sharpe’s vision for the business. Secondly, our two tech stacks present a clear opportunity in the payments sector, which continues to evolve rapidly. Participation in the value chain is moving further away from traditional operators to merchants and their facilitators - and this is where Cardstream will win.”

Gurinder will deploy “the art of the possible”, where partnerships and mergers and acquisitions can accelerate Cardstream’s impressive organic growth thanks to its game-changing products.
Adam Sharpe, Cardstream’s CEO, comments on the appointment: “Gurinder’s appointment is a statement of intent for the company. His experience, knowledge and strategic approach will be vital for us as we fulfil our ambitious goals.”

Gurinder adds: “Having been in this sector for many years, it’s clear how much potential Cardstream continues to have. It’s a brand that’s associated with the latest and best of innovation and one that is all about delivering for its customers and the industry.”
Gurinder is a keen sportsman and plays both hockey and cricket competitively. Amongst his non-executive directorships, he also serves on two key sub-committees for the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board). He is also a big Bruce Springsteen fan, managing to squeeze in watching him live in Sunderland on the eve of joining Cardstream!
