Ingenico, a global leader in secure payment and transaction solutions, received CB5.2 approval on June 29, 2006, from French organization "Groupement des Cartes Bancaires" for its i7310, i7780, i7910, and i8550 terminals. These terminals are part of a new range of Ingenico products featuring 32-bit UNICAPT architecture and can now be launched on the French market, which is a strategic priority for the Group.

This achievement follows the approval obtained in December 2005 for the i5100 countertop terminal, the world's top-selling payment terminal and successor to the Elite 510, France's top-selling payment terminal.

The following models have received CB5.2 approval:

  • i7310: portable "contact" terminal
  • i7780: portable Bluetooth terminal
  • i7910: GSM/GPRS mobile terminal
  • i8550: multi-function GSM/GPRS mobile terminal

"Our iSeries payment terminals are now all CB5.2-compliant," commented Jérôme Janin, Director for France. "Our merchant clients can therefore accept transactions from French and foreign EMV cards with all the necessary security guarantees. We are delighted to be able to offer our French clients our full range of terminals, alongside all the applications required to run them."
