The Exchange, provider of portal services to over 23,500 advisers, today announced that it has won a major new account.

Professional Mortgage Partnerships Network (PMP) today confirmed that it is moving its portal (quotes and e-submission) services to the Exchange's Exweb broker solution.

The Exchange's Exweb Broker solution will provide PMP with a tailor-made, single trading platform to support all of its protection and mortgage-related insurance needs.

Professional Mortgage Partnerships Network was founded by five of the leading packagers in the UK. Its 150 intermediary representatives provide a range of mortgage and related protection products from a wide panel of providers covering term assurance, income protection, ASU/MPPI and household insurance.

Bob Scott, chief executive officer, comments:

"In such a highly competitive marketplace it is essential to us that we give our members the best of breed technology and e-commerce solutions to ensure they can stay ahead of the game. Having reviewed our existing supplier we became aware that moving to The Exchange would make a rapid and discernable difference. Not only did they have the size and resource to move quickly, but more importantly they really understood the nature of our business and what was important to us. We are confident that in making the change, this will further accelerate our competitive position and lead to increased growth for the future."

Exweb broker is a tailored version of Exweb designed for brokers selling mortgages, life protection and general insurance operating under the FSA regulatory status. Exweb broker contains a range of mortgage services including mortgage sourcing and research, GI and credit checking tolls, making it the most comprehensive portal in the market. Professional Mortgage Partnerships Network was previously an Assureweb client.

David Child, managing director of The Exchange, comments:

"Following our recent announcement about Thinc Destini having moved to The Exchange, we are delighted to announce that another major organisation has also come over, in such close succession. This is a terrific endorsement of all the hard work and investment that we have made in our portal services. It is also particularly welcome when new clients have taken some time to look at the rest of the market and then chosen us over and above any competitive proposition."
