DST International (DSTi) - the leader in business solutions for the investment management industry - announced today that it has appointed Ian Hunt as Head of Global Product Strategy. Dr Hunt will assume responsibility for DSTi's entire range of 'best of breed' and fully integrated products and will direct the future plans for the products' functionality, including the R&D priorities. Last year DSTi spent 37,000 man-days on R&D out of a total development capacity of 80,000 man-days.

As Head of Global Product Strategy, Dr Hunt will also be responsible for identifying potential acquisition targets if he decides there is a need to buy in products, modules, services or expertise to complement the existing DSTi range.

Mike Winn, DSTi's CEO, said, "Ian's appointment demonstrates DSTi's current leadership in the asset management industry and future ambitions. Ian is an acknowledged leader in our industry, having been a founder of CityIQ, which has been one of the most innovative independent consultancies in our market. DSTi has had a long (and ongoing) relationship with CityIQ, so we know Ian and his capabilities well. He has worked as an advisor to the industry for almost 20 years, focusing mainly on process and systems strategy. He is a truly imaginative and innovative expert on the investment process, business issues and technologies, and will make a positive impact on the DSTi product range to ensure that it retains, and expands, its leadership qualities with a special focus on front and middle office areas."

Dr Hunt said, "I am delighted to be joining DSTi. I have kept close to their growth and global development over the years and have always had great respect for their management team, their workforce and their products. I am looking forward to using my experience to drive their product strategy forward, and to ensure that they are always market leading. My first role will be to focus on maximising the benefits of DSTi's Risk Management solutions throughout the entire investment process. This is especially important in an increasing climate of 'risk aware' investment decision making. Knowing the existing DSTi products and their competitors, I'm convinced that I can help DSTi to remain at the top of the industry."

Dr Hunt will be based in DSTi's global headquarters in Surbiton.
