Xenomorph has today announced the latest release of its TimeScape data and decision management system, Version 3, is now capable of providing the highest performance analysis of billions of price records stored in terabytes of historical financial markets data.

Market demand resulting from program trading, statistical arbitrage, risk and regulatory requirements have driven this enhancement to TimeScape's XDB database technology, as both new opportunities and new risks are now being identified in high volume intra-day data.

Brian Sentance, Marketing Director, Xenomorph, said "Financial market professionals are now needing to analyse vast amounts of market data and have found that mainstream database technology is not a viable solution. Amongst the specialist vendors there has previously been a tendency to offer separate solutions for tick data, time series data, static-data and real-time analysis. TimeScape is bringing all of these aspects together within an enterprise scale system that delivers immediate end-user value to traders, quants, risk managers and IT staff."

Bill Hartnett, GM of strategy and solutions, Microsoft U.S. Financial Services Group, added: "Xenomorph is a valuable member of our partner program and provides critical vertical expertise in the capital markets arena. We're excited that Xenomorph is delivering this technology on the Windows .NET Platform at such an appropriate time, particularly given current market interest in algorithmic trading and the need to analyse of vast quantities of intra-day market data."
