Fifth Third Processing signs with AmbironTrustWave for PCI compliance services

AmbironTrustWave, a leading provider of information security and compliance management solutions, today announced an agreement with Fifth Third Processing Solutions, the nation's fourth largest bankcard acquirer, to provide Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard compliance technology and services to Fifth Third's merchant portfolio.

The PCI Data Security Standard was instituted in late 2004 to unify the bankcard industry security requirements for storing, processing and transmitting cardholder data. PCI encompasses the standards of Visa's Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and MasterCard's Site Data Protection (SDP) Program. Merchant compliance requirements are segmented into four merchant levels based on the number of transactions a merchant processes annually. Fifth Third has a significant number of merchants at each level.

As a result of this agreement, Fifth Third Processing Solutions' merchant clients will have access to the services that are required for validating compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard and ongoing data security needs, including:

  • Compliance Validation Services - Overall data security assessments and annual on-site assessments for large retailers, supermarkets, restaurants and petroleum merchants
  • The Risk Profiler - A cost effective, easy-to-use risk assessment tool to help Fifth Third and Level 4 merchants evaluate their risk and identify the necessary action(s) to validate PCI compliance
  • TrustKeeper - Secure web-based portal for all merchants to access the PCI self-assessment questionnaire, vulnerability scanning and compliance report, which includes any remediation actions required to address identified vulnerabilities
  • Incident Response - Services to help Fifth Third and its merchants respond to any data compromises and conduct computer forensic investigations


An additional benefit for Fifth Third's merchants for achieving PCI compliance through TrustKeeper is the ability to display AmbironTrustWave's "Trusted Commerce" compliance seal on their e-commerce Web sites. The seal indicates to consumers that the merchant is receiving compliance services that help protect sensitive credit card and order information.
