LSE appoints three new directors

The London Stock Exchange today announced the appointment of David Pitman to the new role of Director of Marketing reporting to the Chief Executive.

Bringing together the different marketing and brand related functions from across the business, David will take responsibility for developing and implementing the Exchange's marketing strategy, including the promotion of AIM across Europe.

David brings with him considerable City experience. Most recently he was CEO for the wealth management business of Close Brothers. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Merrill Lynch in various roles including Sales and Marketing Director and Strategic Planning Manager within the Private Client Division.

Clara Furse, Chief Executive of the Exchange, said:

"We are delighted to welcome David to the Exchange. His senior City experience in a variety of roles will ensure that we optimise our marketing effort at this exciting time in the Exchange's international development. In particular, David will take responsibility for the development of the Exchange's marketing of AIM across Europe."

In addition, Adam Kinsley has been promoted to the new role of Director of Regulation, bringing together the Exchange's Regulatory Strategy and Trading Services functions, while John Wallace has become Director of Media Relations taking responsibility for all of the Exchange's media functions, including its broadcast facilities.
