Banco Real ABN Amro boosts network capacity with Nortel optical technology

Banco Real ABN Amro, a leading financial institution in Brazil, has quadrupled the capacity of its network with an optical solution from Nortel(x) (NYSE/TSX: NT), helping ensure uninterrupted access to business-critical information in real-time.
The new 320-Gbps network will place Banco Real ABN Amro among the financial institutions with the highest site-to-site transmission rate providing the network speed and efficiency needed for applications that require high bandwidth, such as electronic transactions, voice and data applications. In addition, the Nortel Optical solution provides more reliable backup and redundancy.
