Financial IT vendor Wall Street Systems is upgrading its flagship treasury engine to include support for the Linux open source operating system.
The treasury engine currently runs on systems from HP (both Unix and VMS) and Sun.
Mark Tirschwell, chief technology officer, Wall Street Systems, says by delivering the product on Linux, the vendor is responding to the growing market demand for reducing the total cost of ownership for enterprise systems.
"The Linux offering will appeal to companies that are looking to manage their IT costs while not sacrificing performance and reliability," says Tirschwell.
The product will be available on Linux from September 2003.
