The joint initiative represents a €5 million investment over the next 12 months. The investment has been part funded by Lombard, Ulster Bank's asset finance partner in Ireland.

Easycash's ATMs are currently deployed in a number of retail outlets and a range of hotels and pubs throughout the country. The firm claims that its roll out of units has already increased ATM penetration in Ireland by over 25% while usage is growing at over 35% per month.

Mark Roden, managing director, Easycash, says: "With an Easycash ATM installed, retailers can look forward to up to 20% increases in turnover, while offering their customers superior ATM options and services."

The vendor adds that the Ulster Bank partnership will improve access for all ATM card holders, including Visa, MasterCard and Northern Irish cards.

Ulster Bank says the model is an attractive proposition for retailers and the initiative is an important step in expanding cash machine reach and convenience.
