Mobile communications company AvantGo has introduced a new suite of professional services for corporate users and opened a series of dedicated country channels in major European markets.
The California-based company says its Mobile Expert and Jump Start services have been designed to lend support to businesses deploying AvantGo Enterprise software.
AvantGo Mobile Experts offer a consultancy service to enterprise customers to help in the assessment of mobile business requirements and assist with the design, deployment and project direction of new mobile solutions, says the company.
Jump Start is described as a consulting service designed specifically to deploy mobile technology quickly. The programme includes installation and configuration, customised documentation and training for a customer's information technology staff. The onsite service is for businesses that seek to introduce mobile computing applications and AvantGo technology into their existing computing environment.
In a seperate development, the company has also introduced local mobile Internet services in the UK, Sweden and Norway. France and Germany will follow in early 2001.
David Rice, managing director, AvantGo Mobile Internet Europe says: "There are already over 1.2 million registered users of AvantGo through the US-based avantgo.com service and this is growing every day as we expand across Europe."
