Alltel and Prologic roll out m-commerce services

North American financial technology vendors Alltel and Prologic have each unveiled initiatives to deliver mobile commerce services to banking clients.

Vancouver's Prologic has launched i-Wealthview Wireless, a customised information service for mobile banking which is integrated with its Banking and Personal Portal packages. Transactions initially supported by the product will include account balance inquiry, transfer of funds and transaction history inquiry across a range of networks and handheld devices.

The full release will offer bill payment, and notification on customer accounts, stock quotes and stock watch lists, states Prologic. Customers will also have the option of personalised information services, including updates on international business, North American business news, world and local news, and specifics on weather and sports.

In a seperate announcement, Alltel signed an agreement to deliver San Diego-based SensCom's wireless technology to banking clients. Under the agreement, the SensCom platform will be integrated with Alltel's e-drive product suite which includes Internet banking, personal cash management, electronic bill payment and presentment, and event notification applications
