US automated exchange Archipelago has installed California-based Veritas' SanPoint Control software to monitor and managing its storage area networks (SAN).
Veritas says SanPoint Control automates the management of multi-vendor storage environments and monitors storing allocation levels, allowing Archipelago to purchase addition storage, when needed, for its data centres in the Midwest and on the East Coast.
Steve Rubinow, chief technology officer, Archipelago, says: "SanPoint Control's predictive analysis capability has helped us reduce our capital expenditures and manage hardware costs."
The vendor says SanPoint Control has helped the exchange increase storage utilisation levels from 30 to 85 percent.
