The UK firm says over 60% of its protection business from IFAs is now submitted via the Web and its business partners submit all but a few exceptional cases online.

The eProtection Choices service is mainly used by advisors who work away from the office. The service utilises 'store and forward' technology and allows advisers to collect customer data offline to pre-populate quotations and applications which are then submitted online.

OLTA enables advisers to submit online applications into the company's processing systems without the need for a signature and is used by advisors in their own offices with the customer present.

Legal & General says the services give advisers straightforward ways to complete protection transactions electronically, with a choice of e-trading method to best suit their own business needs.
