Dealer-backed credit trading platform MarketAxess has appointed Iain Baillie, former managing director at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney (SSSB), to head its European operations.
Baillie served as a managing director and head of investment grade secondary trading for SSSB in Europe for 15 years.
Prior to this he co-founded research-based agency brokerage firm Luthy Baillie Dowsett & Pethick.
Previously Baillie led Eurobond trading at Prudential-Bache Securities in London. He has also worked at Salomon Brother's London and New York fixed income trading desks, and equity arbitrage and Eurobond trading desks at Strauss Turnbull.
