The new Identrus Certificate Authorities are MeritaNordbanken Unibank (Finland), SEB Bank (Sweden), Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB, Germany), The Co-operative Bank (UK) and Abbey National PLC (UK). In addition, Wells Fargo & Company (United States), an existing member institution, has made an ownership investment in Identrus.

"With additional support by Wells Fargo, we’ll help drive the Identrus initiative forward and enable our corporate and middle-market customers to deal with trading partners with complete confidence," says David Zuercher, executive vice president, Wells Fargo International Group and chairman of Wells Fargo HSBC Trade Bank. "Since markets are becoming increasingly global in nature, services such as this will become increasingly important in facilitating reliable online trade."
