Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, has signed a reseller agreement to package and distribute Toronto-based Hummingbird's data integration tools.
Under the agreement, Teradata will resell Hummingbird's Extract, Transfer and Load (ETL) product - formerly called Genio Suite - and business intelligence suite Hummingbird BI.
ETL consolidates data from across a range of applications and operational systems to build enterprise data warehouses.
Teradata says the deal will enable its customers to consolidate disparate sources of operational information efficiently and conduct data transformations within its Database Management System (DBMS).
Stephen Brobst, Teradata's chief technical officer, says: "The unique ELT approach used by Hummingbird has proven to be very effective in handling complex transformations at large volume with high performance."
He says ETL does this by generating advanced SQL constructs for parallel execution inside the relational DBMS engine.
