International management and IT services consultancy Calleo has opened an 'eConsulting centre of excellence' intended as a showcase for its Web development expertise and featuring technology sourced from a variety of third-party vendors and solutions partners.
The Web team running the centre has worked with organisations such as Barclays, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the BBC, and has first-hand experience of Internet design and development, e-commerce, electronic publishing, interactive TV and multimedia development, says Calleo. The company expects this specialist team to double in numbers by the end of 2000 and increase the customer base by 50 per cent.
Lewis Foti, group e-Consulting manager says: "Recent industry research indicates that all B2B centric organisations will allocate significant amounts of budget to e-commerce business initiatives. For Calleo to remain as advisory and implementation experts in this space, it is imperative for us not only to understand and offer the Web technology of today, but tomorrow as well."
In a separate announcement, Calleo welcomed Dresdner Kleinwort Benson CIO Al-Noor Ramji aboard as a non-executive board director.
