Online brokerage Ameritrade has sold its Kansas City data centre facility to MasterCard for $23.5 million in cash.
Ameritrade says it will lease approximately 20% of the facility that it currently occupies for a minimum five-year period. This will allow the company's data centre operations and backup capabilities to remain the same.
The firm will record a gain on the sale of the facility of approximately $9.2 million.
