SunGard Trading and Risk Systems is to offer credit risk services to banks over an application service provider framework.
The new service, dubbed Credient, was unveiled at the vendor's client conference in Barcelona. SunGard says the service will bring together global credit limits management, credit risk analytics, collateral management and Web-based communications under a single ASP umbrella.
Credient is based on the Risk Exposure Management System (RXM), a recent SunGard acquisition. The company adds that the product will double up as the credit risk engine for participants of the SunGard Transaction Network (STN), which offers straight-through processing services for the key transaction flows in the lifecycle of a trade.
Jim Ashton, group chief executive officer of SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, says: "With increasing trading volumes and a move to online, real-time trading and settlement, it is crucial for our clients to access global credit risk limits and perform robust risk analyses in real-time."
