CGI Group has signed a 10-year, C$200 million payroll outsourcing contract extension with Desjardins, and entered an agreement with the Canadian bank to offer electronic payroll processing services to third party organisations.
The new deal extends the original 1997 contract agreement between the two to 2017.
Under the original agreement, CGI was responsible for the processing of payroll services to small and medium-sized companies. In concert with the bank, it will now begin to offer services to other organisations beyond this market.
Pierre Moran, executive vice-president for electronic services at Desjardins, says: "We are now offering our commercial clients the dual benefit of a complete range of payroll services and on-line solutions."
