Dow Jones Newswires has released a test service for Dow Jones NewsPlus, its XML feed for market-data vendors. Thomson Financial is the first to sign up and will integrate the service into its new open desktop application Thomson One.
The first release of Dow Jones NewsPlus will include stories, information, industry news, company data and stock and bond market updates.
Paul Ingrassia, president, Dow Jones Newswires, comments: "Thomson One and Dow Jones News Service subscribers will find that this new interface makes it easier to track the news that's most important to them and their clients."
Dow Jones says it is currently in discussions with other distributors and adds that NewsPlus will eventually be available on its Web site.
The XML feed is scheduled to be released by the end of the first quarter of 2003.
