BM Solutions, the online division of UK building society Birmingham Midshires, is to provide intermediaries and IFAs with online mortgage submission and application tracking over the Web.
BM Solutions says that 1000 intermediaries have already pre-registered for the service, which will deliver mortgage products offered by the Birmingham Midshires and Halifax Mortgage services.
Michael Bolton, director of mortgages, BM Solutions, comments: "Recent coverage suggests that brokers and IFAs are wary of on-line facilities. The number of pre-registrations we have already received is in stark contrast to this."
The lender says that intermediaries will have another opportunity to sign up to the site in December and, following an initial pilot, the system is expected to go live in January 2003.
In addition to online processing, BM Solutions has also added three new sales tools, which it developed with Mainstream Computing, to its dedicated broker Web site.
