03 November 2000  |  1332 views  |  0 Brief: Ukranian bank looks to chip card future

Ukranian banking company, Vseukrainsky Aktsionerny Bank (Vabank) has licensed card processing software from IFS. The contract is the first to be signed under the "e-chip" marketing programme implemented by IFS in conjunction with Visa International

Vabank has licensed IFS' TP-CMS product for card issuing and merchant acquiring. Once in live production, the system will interface to IFS' TPII product, recently installed at the Ukrainian Processing Centre, the national switch in Ukraine.

The "e-chip" programme has been designed to offer Visa members a simplified migration route to chip-based issuing using the TPII and TP-CMS.
