UK-based earthport is to provide online payments software in support of Ladbrokes' e-gaming and telebetting business.
The earthport payments infrastructure will provide Ladbrokes with an alternative to credit and debit card online transactions that can be used worldwide.
Phillip McGriskin, business development manager at earthport, says: "Cleared cash is the way forward for online retailers, as it opens up whole new countries where credit card penetration is very low, as well as enabling faster and more economical movements of funds on a global basis."
He adds: "Ladbrokes is the first of what we believe will be many major players to adopt the earthport payment system."
