Financial information vendor Dow Jones Newswires has entered an agreement with sister company SmartMoney.com a Web-based supplier of financial news and Java-based application tools.
Under the agreement, the international business development division of SmartMoney.com - a joint venture between Hearst Corporation and Dow Jones - is to supply four complementary software tools to be collectively packaged with Dow Jones Newswire's Financial Wire product. Initially sales efforts for the package, which are aimed at financial firms and investment-focused Web sites, will be concentrated in European markets. Sales in other regions are planned for the coming year.
The SmartMoney package includes tools to track portfolio investments, performance, sectors, and 3D market data visualisation software.
