Swedbank has placed a further order with IT security company Protect Data for the delivery of 150,000 ActivCard digital authentication tokens.
Bank customers use ActivCard's tokens and keypad to create a secure password for digital authentication purposes when transacting with the bank online.
Under the agreement, Protect Data will initiate and prepare the tokens and will also handle their storage and distribution to local bank branches.
The new purchase is in addition to an earlier order by Swedbank in December 2001 for 200,000 ActivCard tokens from Protect Data.
