SunGard is poised to acquire Guardian iT, the City-based disaster recovery firm, according to a report in the Financial Times.
The Financial Times report says Guardian iT is understood to be holding exclusive talks with the US technology services provider and seeking to clinch a deal in the next few days.
The group is said to be under pressure to find a buyer quickly to stop anxious customers from switching to another supplier, writes the paper.
In February, Guardian iT announced it was holding preliminary bid talks with an undisclosed suitor, following the resignation of chairman Richard Raworth and the disclosure of serious accounting discrepancies.
