Credit Lyonnais Securities has installed Kx Systems' tick database system (kdb/tick) across its London operations to manage European real-time stock ticks.
The Credit Lyonnais Capital Markets division is using kdb/tick to track trades and quotes on European equities exchanges in a number of different countries.
The London-based implementation is a follow on to the securities firm's installation of kdb/tick in September 2001 and is the next step in rolling out kdb/tick to CL locations worldwide, says the company.
Xavier Abdobal, Credit Lyonnais, says the firm considered several tick database solutions before selecting Kx. "Based on our very specific needs to manage large amounts of time-ordered data, we found that Kx Systems offered the most adequate solution. We also liked the fact that kdb/tick is easy to install and maintain and that its pricing is attractive," he says.
Kx consulting partner First Derivatives has been hired to provide training and custom scripting to track trades and quotes from the various European exchanges.
