SolutionForge triple whammy for FIX.NET Server

The London Stock Exchange has selected UK-based SolutionForge to provide a combined Financial Information eXchange (FIX) and FIXML messaging interface for the exchange's Retail Service Provider (RSP) Gateway. The STP solutions vendor has also won contracts with Advent Software and EMX Fund Trading Network for its FIX technology products.

The London Stock Exchange’s RSP Gateway, which will be available shortly, will enable private client brokers and RSP’s to conduct business with one another through a central hub.

Under the agreement, SolutionForge’s FIX.NET Server will be integrated with the RSP Gateway for the transfer of price enquiry and deal messaging using the FIX (4.2) protocol and the translation of messages between the FIX and FIXML formats. The RSP Gateway is being developed on the Windows platform allowing for a precise platform fit with the FIX.NET Server.

Chris Broad, head of broker services, London Stock Exchange, notes: "A key factor in our selection of SolutionForge was the match with our RSP Gateway technical infrastructure."

In a separate announcement, Advent Software has selected SolutionForge to provide FIX connectivity for its Moxy automated trading and order management system.

The new FIX messaging module, based on SolutionForge's FIX.NET Server product, will allow Moxy users to execute trades with their broker or ECN and transmit allocation information, says the company.

Peter Caswell, chief executive, Advent Software, says: "We found the FIX.NET system to be a robust and reliable system with superior architecture, product functionality and performance to the other solutions available. It utilises the SQL Server database already in use at Advent, which removes the need for middleware solutions for connectivity."

In a further announcement, SolutionForge has also won a contract with EMX Fund Trading Network to develop a FIX compliance testing solution for all future product releases.

The test environment, which became operational last month, replaces an existing third-party testing system. The system provides greater integration with EMX’s own test methodology, and improves the ease with which EMX can verify test results against those expected, says the company.
