The new solution will effectively re-engineer the bank's IT infrastructure from a decentralised to a centralised model, says Kindle. Following completion of the implementation, the bank’s branch network will be integrated to a central data server in head office, providing customers with the ability to conduct banking from any branch in real-time.

Kindle's Bankmaster software will offer centralised back office accounting and control across the bank's operations. Branchpower software will be installed to provide branch banking and teller support, together with links to the bank's ATM network. In addition, Banca Transilvania is to install Kindle's electronic banking offering, Fontis, for both direct PC and Internet banking. Both Fontis and Branchpower will be integrated to the back office system, Bankmaster.

The system will be implemented on HP boxes running a mixture of Unix and Windows.
