Mellon Financial has signed a multi-year agreement with Qwest Communications for the provision of worldwide voice and data network services.
As part of the agreement, Qwest Local Broadband has built two private high-speed diversified and redundant networks for Mellon's exclusive use, enabling the Pittsburgh-based financial company to connect directly to Qwest's 190,000-mile global broadband network.
To round out the solution, Qwest also will provide dedicated and switched inbound and outbound voice services, as well as ATM, frame relay and private line connectivity.
The agreement with Mellon comes hard on the heels of a large contract with JP Morgan Chase, signed last month.
