UK online portal iVillage is to launch a female finance channel specifically aimed at women who surf.
The money channel launch coincides with iVillage’s Get Out of Debt initiative - set up to address the issue of spiralling debt among women in the UK.
The content is a hybrid of information from iVillage UK and Money Supermarket, the UK’s comparative Website for personal finance, products and services. Visitors will be able to access up-to-the minute information and advice on borrowing, savings and insurance.
Simon Nixon, CEO of moneysupermarket.com says: "We have actively looked for female portal partners like www.iVillage.co.uk because we believe that female sites will become some of the most influential on the Web for making financial decisions in the future. The growth in internet use by women has increased ten times faster than male use in the last six months.
He adds that research also shows that women shop online more than men, and spend longer looking for products online too.
