Britannia deploys Sophos anti-virus software

Britannia Building Society is to deploy Sophos' anti-virus technology to protect its 3000 computer users in branches throughout the UK.
Sophos Anti-Virus will protect Britannia's network against all known viruses, worms and Trojan horses. Sophos currently lists 72,000 viruses, with the figure rising by approximately 1000 per month.
Mike Freakley, technical security manager at Britannia Building Society, says: "As a large financial institution the data we hold is business critical - we cannot allow it to be exposed to attack...Sophos has a proven track record of offering unrivalled detection rates and first class technical support which is specially tailored to corporate needs."
