Fontis will act as the electronic banking front-end for the bank's new Bankmaster system supplied by Kindle, a Misys Group subsidiary, delivering secure banking services directly to the desktops of the bank's clients.

The Fontis solution provides clients with 24 hour access to their financial accounts and a wide range of services, including statements of account, balance reporting, inter account transfers, third party payments and two-way transmission of instructions and remittance acknowledgements.

Iosif Pop, president of Banca Transilvania, says: “We were already in the process of implementing the Bankmaster system, supplied by Kindle, another Misys Group company, so Fontis was the obvious choice to fulfil our client front-end electronic banking requirements."

The system is expected to be live by the end of the first quarter of 2002.
