First Call is to make its BondWatch fixed income research database available for searches over corporate intranets.
The Thomson Financial subsidiary is marketing a BondWatch API to institutional buy- and sell-side customers worldwide. Using the application programming interface, subscribers can access BondWatch data by sending an XML formatted query to a Web server that sends back the requested information in an XML format.
The data items available via BondWatch API include: fixed income ownership information on insurance companies, mutual funds, and state pension fund portfolios; taxable and tax-exempt bond coverage; indicative fixed income information such as ratings and pricing data; and contact information on portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and senior executives at buy-side firms.
