SpareBank 1 says it has chosen EDB Fellesdata as its preferred development partner. The agreement to co-operate on the development of new banking solutions is intended to realise the bank's multi-channel strategy.

SpareBank 1 is a Nordic bank and product alliance uniting the SpareBank 1 banks of Norway and Swedbank of Sweden through a jointly owned holding company.

As part of the agreement, SpareBank 1 will purchase EDB Fellesdata's standard system for messaging with archive functionality, and initiate a joint study for a project to further develop this system.

The deal comes on the back of a series of contract wins for EBD Fellesdata over the past two weeks, including Handelsbanken, Terra-Gruppen and Danske Bank.
