Bank of the Philippine Islands installs Walker e-procurement package

Bank of the Philippine Islands has selected Walker Interactive Systems' e-procurement solution to automate and analyse its purchasing transactions.

The solution is to be installed throughout the bank's 690 branch offices to enable real-time collaboration between the bank's buyers and suppliers and its branch offices.

Corazon Remo, senior vice president of Bank of the Philippine Islands, says: "Walker's e-procurement solution will allow Bank of the Philippine Islands to improve on our current procurement and reporting processes to realise both short and long term return on investment by allowing us to monitor the purchases made by the different units within our bank and then leverage that information to make better informed decisions."

This data will be used to improve the bank's bargaining position when negotiating contracts with suppliers across discrete divisions, she says.

Remo adds that Walker was chosen for its cost-effectiveness and marketplace collaboration capabilities following an evaluation process which also included Oracle and EDInet.
