Kay Thawley, general manager, direct retailing and distribution, says the bank has experienced a fifty per cent growth in the rate of Internet banking over the past year compared to other channels, and a corresponding 25% decline in teller and Australia Post 'assisted' transacting.

"This new service will support an expected increase from the current 500,000 online customers to at least 750,000 within the next 12 months," says Thawley.

The bank's Internet banking service includes account information, transaction history, funds transfer payments and bill payments.
