American Stock Exchange (AmEx) is to integrate Micro Design Services' (MDS) wireless trading and booth support system, Bars, for use by its floor brokers.
The system routes orders, using an MDS developed routing engine, over AmEx's existing 2.4 GHz wireless LAN to the appropriate executing brokers in the trading posts.
Brokers are able to report their trade executions wirelessly in real-time to the Exchange and to the Bars booth management terminals. All activity in the system is audit-trailed and time-stamped.
The system is designed to support 300 booth terminals and 300 wireless hand-held computers simultaneously.
