The information and news group has developed the service with Targa Services, a Fiat auto company that provides global mobility services for car and enterprises.

The service will enable Fiat motorists to receive in-car delivery of Reuters Online Reports, which cover top national and international news, sports, entertainment and business news as well as financial prices and data. Drivers can access the information on the car’s dashboard via Fiat’s ‘Connect’, an in-car, on-demand information system.

Initially, the service will be available in early 2002 in Fiat’s new executive car, the Lancia Thesis. It will be rolled out to other ranges later in the year.

David Owen, marketing director for Reuters Media Europe, says: "Having access to Reuters financial information and news content means that drivers will be able to be kept up to date on the latest breaking news and stock market movements.”
