Penney succeeds Lepore as CIO in Schwab reshuffle

Dawn Lepore, vice chairman and CIO of the Charles Schwab Corporation is taking on a new role as vice chairman of technology and administration. Her replacement as CIO is Geoff Penney, who joined Schwab in 1997 to oversee financial products and international technology.

Prior to joining Schwab, Penney served as a senior vice president at Fidelity Investments in Boston, and managing director for Bankers Trust Company in London and New York.

Lepore, an eighteen-year veteran at Schwab, retains her position on the executive management committee following the reshuffle.

Schwab also announced the appointment of Mary McLeod, executive vice president, human resources. She joins the company from Cisco Systems and will report to Lepore.
