The 18 karat gold card gives users the benefits of a Raris account, with limitless spending, zero foreign exchange and transaction fees, and its own app.

The card, which is expected to come with an £18,000 price tag, is made from source-traceable metals and is engraved with the owner's name and signature.

Anne Jessopp, CEO, Royal Mint, says the card is being launched in "acknowledgement of growing consumer demands for unique and luxury payments cards".
